So yesterday I visited the Luxembourgian comic festival and came back with a bag of new graphic novels and comics to read and review. Initially I had also planned to do a short interview with ND!, the artist behind “De leschte Ritter”, but I think I will postpone this to a later date, when the page has had a lot more clicks.

Like every year, most retailers had a lot more “Bande Dessinées” than normal comic books on display, but for once this was actually a good thing. I found a collector’s edition of Pascal Croci’s Le ditpyque Dracula. It contains both volumes of his Dracula saga called Dracula : Le prince valaque Vlad Tepes and Dracula : Le mythe raconté par Bram Stoker. The other French book I got was La Chute de la Maison Usher by Nicolas Guillaume, a graphic novel about Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher”, using the official tradition by Charles Baudelaire. Comic wise I got the first two paperbacks of DMZ, the two paperback edition of Batman: Hush and the three book edition of Sin City: Hell and Back. Most of these will be reviewed here, as soon as I get around to reading them.

Except for the getting soaked by the surprise rainfall, it was a really successful festival in my opinion. Most artist stands where overrun by eager fans, who were hoping for a dedication or an autograph and from my point of view it seemed like this year, there were more visitors than usual. After the festival we thought it might be a good idea to round of this day of comics with a viewing of the Incredible Hulk (which finally came out here last week). More about this tomorrow, right here!
