This weekend it is time for the annual comic festival right here in Luxembourg. There will be several writers and artists on site and it will be possible to buy graphic novels and other memorabilia right there on the spot. Most of these will however be translations in German or French and the artists are also mainly from those countries. You have to know that here in Luxembourg, the “Bande Dessinée” (the French word for a comic book) is much more popular than the American equivalent. Among the Luxembourgian artists will be Lucien Czuga (Superjhemp, De leschte Ritter), Roger Leiner (Superjhemp) and Andy Genen (De leschte Ritter), who will be signing their work and probably answer a question or two.

There will also be an exhibit featuring 80 constructions in 3D realized from several different comic book scenes. Furthermore there will be several opportunities to win prizes, like signed comic books and others.

So if you are free this weekend and live in the vicinity of Luxembourg, come by at Contern and take part in the festivities. I will be there on Sunday and will hopefully come back with a few interesting comments.

The festival is open from the 19th to the 20th of July 2008 from 10 A.M till 7 PM. More information can be found here: http://www.bdcontern.lu/
